Good cond – Almost a historic document I’d say! this postcard was sent in 1909 to Miss E Carr, Funny Hill, Binda, Gouldburn, NSWales – see scans of both sides. One of the leading pastoral holdings in Eastern Australia, Funny Hill was held by the Carr family for the past 166 years and comprises 3,877 ha (9,580 acres). It is located an easy 3-hour drive from Sydney via the Hume Highway, the city of Goulburn, the local township of Crookwell and on to the village of Binda – in a convenient, well sought after district which is renowned as an outstanding livestock production stronghold, as well as today a retreat for many rural lifestyle seekers, in particular from Sydney and Canberra.

GENUINE real photo postcard in FAIR Cond with some surface “cracks” and bends – the interest in this card comes from the message from a soldier who is attending the military camp at Bovington in Sept 1911 – message says in part “Last night we had a sham fight and I was in the attacking party. We managed to capture the camp & won the day. We finished up at 12 MN (midnight)” – addressed to Miss Lill Barton, 86a Atheldene Rd, Earlsfield, SW London – see scans of both sides. Love from Dot” – addressed in the early 1900’s to Mrs Daly, Outchambo, Mangana Road, Canterbury (Tasmania) – VERY GOOD cond with just a minor amount of usual light foxing – absolutely delightful and very skillfully done – it is totally suitable to frame as an antique miniature – see scans of both sides.
