Pre-Philatelic Letter B Crowned Bordeaux Armorial Nérac 17th-18th Century

Authentic handwritten prephilatelic letter from the 17th century, accompanied by its original fold and its armorial black wax seal, addressed to Mrs. Demarquez, at La Grange near Nérac. This piece presents a real historical and postal interest thanks to the presence of an old postmark of Bordeaux, with a very beautiful heraldic wax seal and entirely handwritten content. The fold is closed with a important armorial black wax seal, unfortunately broken when opened but very largely preserved. a central piece of furniture probably representing a stylized bird (or a heraldic animal), clearly visible in the center of the shield. Prephilately, Bordeaux, crowned B, Ancien Régime, Old letter, 17th century, Postal history, Wax seal, Armorial stamp, Heraldry, Nérac, Old manuscript, Old correspondenc.

1946 Wilma Walters Letter to Navy Vet Ollie Deane WWII CASTLE LA

The body of the letter, composed in a conversational and apologetic tone, opens with “Excuse the long delay in writing you, but I’m sure you’ll say the reason sufficient. I thought it was!”. The left margin contains printed vertical text reading “CASTLE” and “LOS ANGELES, USA,” likely identifying the stationery manufacturer or designer, along with a partially obscured horizontal designation that appears to read “EASSBORNE Clayton” and the number “Adams 13055,” suggesting a specific product or design series from this Los Angeles-based printer.
