VERY UNIQUE ORIGINAL Dated & Artist Signed, COLOR Pencil Fashion Hand Done Drawing, 1937 DESCRIPTION: Extremely unusual, ORIGINAL antique 1936 free-hand artist’s COLOR & REGULAR closeup drawing of woman’s face, blonde hair, hat, and shoulder bow. Scans show it all. From a collection done by the same girl, Lucy Veno, and all drawn from 1935-37. I have a variety of her sketches, and most are dated and signed. THIS ONE IS. Has her signature “Lucy” on it and the date 2/21/37. Excellent quality and detail as shown in the scans. THIS ARTIST WAS VERY ACCOMPLISHED. Great look of the period, including clothes, hair style, facial appearance, and pose, etc. Model or person or pose portrayed was very affluent for the period, sporting a fancy dress/outfit, in the middle of the Depression! Large size picture, measuring about 9″ x 6″. This listing is for a single drawing, NOT for the entire album of work referred to. The other drawings will be sold individually and separately, and some are also listed right now on ebay. However, this one comes with a second pencil sketch on the other side of the page as shown, as a bonus. Also signed and dated. A commanding view over all Manhattan from the Heights of Brooklyn. The foreground includes the river shore with much open space and three men on a promontory over the river. The Hudson is full of boats, sloops and clippers, and the city skyline is punctuated by many slender church spires. “T.K. Wharton, Del./ A.W. Graham, Sculpt. below the image at the right.
