This item is the front cover of a self-published guide or fanzine titled “THE IDIOT’S GUIDE TO PUNK ROCK MUSIC or nu wave or whatever,” authored by Joanna M. Refrain. The cover design embodies the quintessential do-it-yourself aesthetic of the late 1970s or early 1980s underground music scene, likely produced in the northeastern United States given the extensive references to clubs in New York City and Philadelphia found within.
The Barsoomian Blade, a very humorous newspaper look at what is happening on Barssom. This 6-page edition is dated March 19, 1950, [1996], published by Jeff Long and limited to 20 copies. Individual 11″ x 17″ pages were bound to simulate a real newspaper.
